AGA Standard in Callington gets the electric treatment just in time for Christmas

Our latest member to the electric AGA family is based in the town of Callington in South East Cornwall. Knowing the benefits the reduced heating times bring, the guys were keen to get their AGA converted in time for the hectic Christmas period. 

The newly converted AGA is a welcome addition to the kitchen's culinary arsenal. The precision temperature controls of the oven are perfect for getting the turkey just right while the stove tops are the ideal place for keeping the mulled wine warm all through Christmas.

In order to carry out the conversion  we had to take our kit and tools up approximately 79 steps but once converted it was the ideal solution for this Kingswear holiday let cottage in the most wonderful location with stunning views over the river Dart.

Retro to electro: another oil AGA converted to electricity

This AGA was a purpose built oil cooker but in the retro style of the older classic solid fuel standard AGA. 

We installed an Electrikit to fit this model, with the control panel fitting perfectly where the oil burner access used to be. 

The customer now has a highly controllable AGA while making great savings on their oil fuel bills and being free from the inconvenience of fuel problems. 

The electric conversion will also provide better comfort control in the summer for their kitchen which was often too hot in the mid-summer heat.

Another happy AGA owner following an electric conversion (previously standard solid fuel, then converted to oil AGA).

One of the main reasons for this conversion was the recent addition of photovoltaic panels used to source electricity, making it an sustainable AGA solution. 

Other reasons include the elimination of additional servicing costs due to problematic oil prematurely blocking the burner with ash and carbon deposits.
